History: the fruit of the Martorana is an imitation of fruit of every kind. With vibrating colors and made with pasta of almonds is also known as the "royal pasta".
The Martorana fruit takes its name from a convent in Palermo (the Martorana, a monastery which is a jewel of the Norman's art) and it is a homage due in honor of the nuns of convent who taught the secret of the pastry to the cooks.
